I actually do like the landing boats but the scene is too much like the Starship Troopers scene and adds to how unoriginal Disney films are.

Trivia on Kylo Ren's name: look up Kybo Ren from Droids. Starkiller Base is ripped off of the Suncrusher and is used basically like Kyp Durron story.

TFA also just sucks for wasting the opportunity to have the ot cast together on screen again. And if they'd been smart they would have used the Expanded Universe story instead and in 7 Chewie would die setting up Han's mood for two films which only would get worse in 8(Anakin Solo). But with Peter Mayhew's passing, Chewie's death in Vector Prime on screen could have been Oscar worthy for Harrison or Mayhew. And it would have given him one epic way to go out. I hate Disney so much. 😔

The Falcon is made of a stronger metal than we have at our level of technology. This is why it can do what it does on Jakku and ESB in the asteroid field. And hitting trees would be the same. The deflectors are for space travel and deflect things like micrometeorites and debris. It makes a field, so I assume that's like a physical barrier. I'm just saying I don't think the deflectors add strength to the ship. The cross section also shows acceleration compensation and anti concussion field generators. Maybe these are what do that.

Man it kills me to hear you guys gush about TFA as if the Expanded Universe doesn't exist and didn't do everything Disney is claiming to do first years before the mouse owned the franchise.
