Jakku is on the outer rim like Tatooine. That's why they're like third world countries. The core world's is where the New Republic is strongest and the FO can't get there. That's why they attacked the resistance planets.

Nah the New Republic kept a military to keep the imperial remnants at bay for several years Steve. Then they had a few galactic crisises and then an extra galactic threat. But then the imperial remnant and New Republic merge so they keep a military anyways. Even despite this the Old Republic had a military or defense force. It just wasn't large enough to take on the CIS and the Droid army. Their army usually just got the Jedi to help or they'd get the planet a problem was happening on to use their own defense forces. But it wasn't like they were against having one.

And I would have loved Daisy as Jaina Solo, Adam as Jacen Solo, Oscar could be Kyo Durron, who fell to the dark side and came back thanks to Luke and would know what Jacen is going through for the audience. Boyega could be Jagged Fel who is apart of an Imperial Remnant and in love with Jaina. It would have been better. But Ford is a douchebag and wanted Han to die. And then Ruin thought oh it would subvert expectations if Luke did too. 🙄

What I don't get about feminism in Hollywood is, that Alien came out in the seventies. Ellen Ripley and Sarah Connor have existed for decades and women act like they've never been shown a badass woman before in their life. Look at Linda Carter Wonder Woman and Xena and Scully, and Red Sonja, and Buffy, and all kinds of films and shows before 2000. Not to mention all the post 2000 films like Underworld, resident evil, aeon flux, bloodrayne, etc. That's what I don't get.

They watered down nerd culture for the masses and the lowest common denominators. People are calling themselves nerds and they've never felt like outcasts or were persecuted by jocks. Posers.
