Episode 163: Anybody Want A "Meh" Toy?!
Wednesday Feb 12, 2020
Wednesday Feb 12, 2020
GI Joe is a toyline with incredible highs, and a few notable lows. But living in the middle are so-so toys that will forever be skippable... Or are they?
In Episode 163 the lads challenge themselves to convince fellow Joburg members of the merit of the less-than-stellar entries into the line. Will anyone be reaching for their credit card by the end of the show?
Plus, Paul got a T-Rex.

I like the design of the action force 6" figures but the price is unreasonable. Same with Hasbro lately. I can't justify spending that much on a toy as an adult. And I have tons of expendable income. I can just tell it's a raw deal/con at these prices.

I dig the small playsets. And the idea of troop building them is neat.

The slugge would be neat to see in an episode where all the newer vehicles are damaged or stolen and they had to use the older motor pool.

Paul what about. GI JOEs vs Dinosaurs done like Dino Crisis? That would be pretty good.

The JP Mossosaur is worth getting. I want the Brachiosaurus too especially after seeing what Empire Toy Works did with it.

Spytroops started in 2003-ish.

The Patriot tank from the 90's is pretty good too, but could have been better. It needed a troop section or something better than that missile rack section. The vehicle looks like it should be on the moon or Mars. Doesn't look fast but has firepower.

I actually think the Cobra Rat could have been great if instead of those fly off blades in the back they had put a small two figure troop section there. Cause then you have the pilot driving troops in with the Rat and that makes it pretty useful.

The McFarlane Halo Reach figures are very playable. I think they knew that line needed better plastic or something. Sucks they didn't think the same for the Predator figures.
