Some cartoons in the 80's-90's seem like they have subliminal gay imagery. Leatherneck on a motorcycle fighting a guy with only a hospital gown on, the way a lot of guys are dressed, and some poses on the show make me think that. 😁

I like to think of GI Joe and Cobra as two sides of the same US coin. GI Joe represents the best aspects of military industrial complex and Cobra the worst. And other countries use these technologies and some abuse them like Cobra.

The 80's and 90's are only hokey now. Hindsight is 20/20. And very jaded/cynical. And we pass on opinions to younger people so they'll mostly see the past like that too. I love imagining how life is like at the age of 18-25 in different decades like the 30's and 50's. My grandpa tells me about the 30's-50's in the southern US and its way less racist than Hollywood makes out. At least for this part of the south.

Paul pretty much describes my dad too. Except he wasn't a high school drop out he was a college drop out. Got in trouble and joined the Navy. I was even born in Chula Vista like shipwreck while my dad had been in for seven years or so. Once I was born he'd matured and actually did well. He made it to E-7 before retirement.

Shipwreck is probably my favorite because he reminds me of my dad when he was a young sailor. I've never seen him as a fuck up, just young. As my dad got older he matured and didn't screw up. Shipwreck probably did the same.
