GI Joburg Episode 64: FSS 4.0

Been a while since we talked toys. Comics and cartoons are all fine and well, but action figures, vehicles, and playsets take the focus back in this episode where the boys crack open their elusive top 5 toys that have evaded capture. They run down their wishlist of toys they're still on the hunt for; and dip their toes into the Hasbro Cinematic Universe concept. Figure Subscription Service 4.0, also comes under fire... *ahem*... receives some focus.

Molds are like ten thousand dollars per figure. That isn't a lot to Hasbro when they charge $13 for a modern 1/18 figure with standard articulation (the call it premium but it's standard). They have to sell less than a thousand of a figure to make back the mold cost. Truth is: Hasbro is greedy and wants to be the Hot Toys of the toy aisle. They think they're a premium brand now. 🤦🏻♂️

I don't know guys, Disney content is kind of baseline for me. MCU is overrated. They didn't even try to get Daredevil and the Defenders into Infinity War and Endgame. Or Agents of Shield. It's just a ten year look at Disney and how much money we have kind of thing. I'm a fan of source material over new iterations. Canon trumps box office sales. Like how Hasbro bungled the Joe films. F those film's. Some toys came of them and that's good. But we need a movie accurate to the source material. File cards and comics over the Sunbow cartoon of course, but it wouldn't be hard to use parts of the cartoons to fill in gaps or add more content to the canon.
