GI Joburg is back to unearth some more gems from our toy chest with the aptly titled 'Best of the Rest' tribute. GI Joe left little to be desired in terms of 3'3/4" military toys, but every once in a while, the competition came up with something we could not do without. GI Joburg showcases nine such toys from spinoff toylines that became infamous in their childhood battles.

Once Starship Troopers the 97 film came out and I got the Arachnid toy, my Corps figures in grey with black tiger stripes became mobile infantry. The Nazi looking guy with the eye patch was my Carl. The guy with the beret(Hammer?) Was my Rico. The black guy with the same body as Sarge (bearded guy with green fatigues and black tiger stripes) was my Sugar(black guy). I had a Colleen O'Reilly from Exo Squad as Carmen. And the hill I played on was a nice color match for various Klendathu locations.

My Corps o ring figures had week thumbs only on certain figures. It seems like the ones that had a semi translucent plastic for skin tones seemed to have stronger thumbs. But the ones where they had to paint the skin tone or weren't that semi translucent plastic tended to break easier at the thumbs.
