Sunday Nov 10, 2019
Viva AmaBokke Bokke, VIVA! The REAL O.G. Green Team! Please excuse the South Africans for beating their drum a little on this one. Last weekend our national rugby team, the Springboks, were crowned world champions in the 2019 Rugby World Cup in Japan. This would mark our third victory since being allowed back into international tournaments after the lifting of a sports boycott in 1995. And we are overjoyed to be lifting that trophy again. In honour of sporting achievements, we chat about Joes and Cobra’s with unique sports interests.
But in case you were worried that sports fever had the slightest possibility of taking over the nerdy Joburg boys, fear not! We delve into a discussion of our definitive versions of Psyche-Out; an exposé on our favourite GI Joe and Cobra linguists; some Joevember art appreciation; and speculation on the origin of the Baroness’ file name! It’s a mixed bag filled with enthusiastic Joe goodness!

The way Hollywood keeps rehashing stories and characters and never keeping to a consistent canon is why they can't make anything people really enjoy lately. All the misses they've been having are because of inconsistent canon. Terminator, Wars, Trek, and Joe with the films and the cartoons after Sunbow. They keep resetting their canon and that's annoying to anyone that likes the canon they establish at any iteration. I think that's why those fans need the wiki to have the canon info there in digital stone. It's fun and useful for anyone that does d20 gaming too cause it acts like a sourcebook. And I'd rather be the one playing out the different angles myself. Let them have a set canon and lore and I'll play in that world and make changes on the fly for the mood of the day. Rules for stability and that encourage creativity. Kind of like how you guys do the narratives but I would think you guys are more loose with the lore and story than I think. But Atlantis Factor, Blazing Sand, Graduation Day, the Race, and Bad Luck Lady/Yin Yang feel like a consistent canon or world-building. Their consistency is why I like them. The music, effects, cinematography, and stories feel like they aren't constantly negating things before them. This is already too long, but there's some feedback homeboys. 🍻👍👍
