I'm sorry for all the comments, and if they sound angry. I'm not angry at you guys, im angry at Disney and Hollywood. And I'm passionate about Star Wars and marvel. Joe's too of course. Not so much their comics as I only ever had one. It was one where I think Firefly catches a sword thrown at him with his palms pressed together. Anyway, I'm just saying I hope I don't come across as an asshole. The podcasts are great and I'm just chiming in from time to time.

The problem with Disney disregarding the canon and making their own(fan fiction at that point) or not adhering to source material is why get into anything if it will eventually be retconned and the newer generations will mock the older iterations? I can't invest my time or money into liking a franchise if it can't respect its own canon. And I'm tired of reboots/rehashes/remakes. Hollywood is perpetuating mediocrity and lazy film making with that attitude.

The ditching of the EU was simply because they didn't want to kill off Chewbacca. Cause they really had a lot planned for him in TLJ right guys? Am I right? Seriously though, they admitted the sole reason for ditching the EU was not wanting to kill chewie. They don't respect the fans or the canon and they didn't respect Peter Mayhew enough to let him play out Chewie's death before his own. I challenge anyone who claims to be a fan to listen to the vector prime audio book and listen to Chewie's death scene on Sernpidal. I tear up everytime I I read it or listen to it. It gave Han and Hans youngest son Anakin motivation for the next like 7 books. And that 7th or so book, star by star would bring Anakin's arc to an end which sets in motion the next trilogy. The EU is the godfather and Disney is SpongeBob.

What?!? Shadows of the empire is a good novel guys. You did miss something. Xizor is an interesting bad guy and Dash was neat because you get to see a younger Han from Leia's perspective. And the way it talked about their plan to rescue Han by means of infiltration is great. And Guri is 👌. Plus it builds on the Bounty Hunter Guild story for Fett and the other hunters. You guys should get the audio books and really give it a chance. The Expanded Universe is better than Disney hands down. 🍻

It took a year not three for lando and leia to infiltrate Jabba's palace. And Luke trained and built a new saber. So Steve is right to be skeptical of the three year gap between ESb and ROTJ. There is a three year gap between ANH and ESB in the canon though.

Luke didn't just whine through ANH or the OT. He whined to Owen. He mopes slightly about his uncle and aunts deaths. He questioned Han's price. There gaining on us after they leave mis eisley. And he moped a little about Ben. Other than that he didn't whine or seem whiny. He was an 18 year old guy from a backwater world. He's growing before our eyes intentionally. And on Dagobah he's impatient because he's worried about Leia and his friends. By Jedi he's killing pig guards with force chokes and slicing motherfuckers off pirate ships. 😎 Luke IS Star Wars for me.
